The Scheffelstrasse carriageway is being renewed
The area between the Rosarium access road and the bridge over the Chemnitz is affected
From Tuesday 1 August, Scheffelstraße will be fully closed between the access road to the Rosarium and the bridge over the Chemnitz. The reason for this is the renewal of the carriageway in this section. The work is expected to last until 9 October.
The entire road superstructure will be replaced. The northern pavement will be partially repaired and the southern bus stop will be made barrier-free. In addition, the traffic lights and the cycle and footpath on Heinrich-Sturm-Weg will be reconstructed. Parts of the street lighting will also be renewed.
A local diversion has been signposted. Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH has been commissioned with the construction work. The construction costs amount to around 480,000 euros.
