The "Reichsbürger" - sinister and hidden?

On Thursday 21 June at 7 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre and the Saxon State Centre for Political Education will be addressing the topic of "Reichsbürger". The event will take place in the TIETZ event hall.
Author Tobias Ginsburg will read from his book "Die Reise ins Reich. Unter Reichsbürgern." The political scientist Jan Rathje categorises the descriptions in the current state of research and knowledge.
Across Germany, the activities of the so-called "Reichsbürger" are becoming increasingly visible, threatening and sometimes aggressive. The aim is to understand who the "Reichsbürger" actually are. In their view, the Federal Republic of Germany is not sovereign and the German people are victims of a global conspiracy.
The evening's speakers will show that these are very well networked, anti-democratic, anti-Semitic, right-wing extremist and right-wing extremist individuals and groups who often hide behind a bourgeois or conservative façade and thus insidiously undermine the democratic principles of our society.
