The new university library in the former stock spinning mill
Lecture by library director Angela Malz on 21 August, 6 pm at the TIETZ
On Wednesday, 21 August at 6 pm, the Director of the University Library, Angela Malz, will speak in the TIETZ event hall about the conversion of the former stock spinning mill into the new library of Chemnitz University of Technology. The event is being organised to mark 150 years of Chemnitz City Library. Admission is free.
Angela Malz will take the guests on a journey through time, from the building's past to the current status of the construction work, and answer the question of why an old factory building is being converted into a university library. Afterwards, pictures of the conversion of the Aktienspinnerei will be shown.
Finally, there will be a virtual tour of the future rooms and a preview of some of the services that visitors to the new university library in the Aktienspinnerei can expect.
