The lost property office of the city of Chemnitz is moving
Closed from 11 to 15 October due to relocation - open in new premises from 18 October
In October 2021, the lost property office of the City of Chemnitz will move to new premises.
For this reason, it will be closed from Monday to Friday, 11 to 15 October.
During this time, the staff of the lost property office will not be available by telephone or e-mail, for which we ask for your understanding. In urgent matters, citizens can contact the public authority number 115.
On Monday, 18 October, the lost property office will open in its new premises on the ground floor of the Bürgerhaus am Wall, Düsseldorfer Platz 1, Webergasse entrance.
The lost property office of the City of Chemnitz is the first point of contact for lost and found items of all kinds: whether a bunch of keys, wallet, mobile phone or even larger items such as hoovers, toolboxes or bicycles.
The lost property office team consists of two employees and processes around 6,500 items of lost property every year. Three to four times a year, auctions are held for unclaimed lost property. This year, the auctions could only take place online due to the coronavirus.
