The fire salamander - small amphibian with safety waistcoat

Lecture on 15 April, 5 p.m., Chemnitz Nature Conservation Station, Adelsbergstraße 192

Das Bild zeigt eine Feuersalamander (Salamandra salamandra) in Nahaufnahme. Der Salamander ist schwarz mit leuchtend gelben Flecken und befindet sich inmitten von grünem Blattwerk. Der Hintergrund ist unscharf, aber man erkennt vertrocknete Blätter auf dem Boden. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Salamander, der einen Teil seines Körpers hinter den Blättern versteckt.

On Tuesday, 15 April at 5 pm, anyone interested is invited to a lecture on "The fire salamander - a small amphibian with a high-visibility waistcoat" at the Chemnitz Nature Conservation Station, Adelsbergstraße 192. Admission is free of charge.

Heidi Enderlein, project officer at BUND Sachsen e.V. as part of the natural heritage project "Species documentation of the fire salamander in the Zwickau district and Chemnitz city area" 2023 - 2025, will take participants on a search for clues in the hidden habitat of the fire salamander. In a richly illustrated presentation, she will explore the way of life, distribution and endangerment of this amphibian species.

The event is a co-operation between BUND Sachsen e. V. and the Environmental Office of the City of Chemnitz.
