The Environmental Agency invites you: Lecture on the bird life of Chemnitz
The next lecture of the monthly events organised by the voluntary nature conservation service will focus on Chemnitz's birdlife, causes of endangerment and conservation projects. Jens Börner, Head of Department at the Lower Nature Conservation Authority in the Environmental Agency and an ornithological expert for over 35 years, will speak on the topic.
The native bird world is a well-studied group of species that, apart from the feral domestic pigeon, is generally protected but also endangered and is of great importance for nature conservation issues. The lecture provides an overview of the dangers to which Chemnitz's birdlife is exposed and the causes of the decline of many birds. At the same time, conservation projects for the bird world will be presented.
The lecture begins on Tuesday, 24 March 2015 at 5 p.m. in the citizens' room of the Adelsbergstr. 192 nature conservation station, which can be reached by tram line 5 to the "Pappelhain" stop. Access is via Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße, where only limited parking spaces are available. Admission to the event is free.
