"The disaster is far from over"

Exhibition on Fukushima and Chernobyl at the Environmental Centre

5 years after Fukushima and 30 years after Chernobyl, the Environmental Centre is showing the exhibition "Fukushima, Chernobyl and us - The disaster is far from over" from 11 to 29 March 2016. The poster exhibition provides facts and explains the consequences of the two worst reactor accidents to date. The exhibition will open on 11 March 2016 at 10.30 a.m. in the Environmental Centre, Henriettenstraße 5. The exhibition can be viewed daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Since the first nuclear power plant went online around 60 years ago, there have already been three major reactor disasters (Harrisburg, Chernobyl, Fukushima). Other reactors were close at hand. Millions suffer from the consequences of radiation. Chernobyl and Fukushima both proved that the nuclear risk is a real one - not only in Soviet reactors, but also in a high-tech country like Japan, which has more experience with nuclear power plants than almost any other.
The exhibition aims to make the disasters and their consequences understandable and to keep them in memory.
