The "CITY CYCLING" campaign is over

Most active cyclists are honoured - survey on cycling continues

More than 1,660 people from Chemnitz took part in the "CITY CYCLING" cycling campaign, which ended yesterday. A total of 315,042 kilometres were cycled in the past three weeks, saving 46 tonnes of CO2 in purely mathematical terms (late registrations are still possible until the end of the week).

The main aim of the CITY CYCLING competition is to encourage as many people as possible to switch to cycling in everyday life and thus contribute to climate protection and the promotion of cycling. The city of Chemnitz took part in the nationwide cycling campaign for the first time this year, with Michael Stötzer, Mayor of Chemnitz, as patron of the campaign.

There will be an awards ceremony in November to honour the most diligent pedalers, including teams and the most diligent daycare centres and schools. In addition, the city of Chemnitz will plant a tree for each winning team.
(Note for the media: You will receive a separate invitation to the event)
