The Chemnitz Opera Choir and its directors - A journey through time
City Library: Exhibition and lecture series from 29 September to 14 November - Opening on 29 September, 3 pm, in the Music Library of the City Library
From Friday 29 September to Tuesday 14 November, the exhibition "The Chemnitz Opera Choir and its Directors - A Journey through Time" will be on display in the Music Library of Chemnitz City Library. The occasion for the presentation is World Music Day on 1 October. The exhibition, which was shown to guests of the opera house last year, is now open to all Chemnitz residents.
Thanks to intensive research by the two singers Petra Koziel (alto I) and Christiane Barth (soprano I), the exhibition "The Chemnitz Opera Choir and its directors - A journey through time" provides a glimpse into the past of the Chemnitz Opera Choir. Koziel and Barth, who both come from musical families, began their research in 2015 and the exhibition was created in close collaboration with the Chemnitz City Archive.
A total of six information panels make the history of the choir tangible. In addition to introducing individual personalities, the exhibition also presents venues through the ages and uncovers some curiosities.
Special highlights during the exhibition period are four events organised by members of the opera choir. There will be fascinating background information about the research and the opera choir itself.

Information about the profession and its transformation over time as well as numerous biographies of important personalities
