The carriageway on the Harthauer Straße bridge is being renewed

Construction work is expected to take place from 4 to 11 October

The road surface on the Harthauer Straße bridge over the Chemnitz in the Chemnitz-Harthau district is expected to be repaired from Friday, 4 October to Friday, 11 October.

The existing carriageway surface in the bridge area is showing widespread road damage (so-called levelling and grain breakouts). There is also damage in the form of network cracks and deeper asphalt breakouts at the bridge ends and connection areas. It is therefore necessary to renew the entire carriageway surface on the bridge and in the connecting areas. To this end, the asphalt in the construction area will be milled off to a depth of four centimetres and replaced with new asphalt.

The bridge will have to be fully closed to traffic for the repair work. Pedestrians will still be able to cross the Chemnitz during this time.

The full closure of the carriageway includes the area of Harthauer Straße from the junction with Schulstraße up to Harthauer Straße, house number 9.

A diversion via Stöcklstraße, Kirchsteig and Feudelstraße will be set up for residents and delivery traffic for the duration of the bridge closure.
At the Stöcklstraße/Kirchsteig bottleneck, traffic will be regulated by a two-way traffic light.

The costs for the repairs total approx. 30,000 euros (gross), including expenses for traffic management and safety.
