The carriageway of Henriettenstraße is being renewed

First section between Erich-Mühsam-Straße and Barbarossastraße

On Monday, 19 June, construction work will begin on Henriettenstraße in the Kaßberg district to renew the carriageway in the first section between Erich-Mühsam-Straße and Barbarossastraße. The approximately 190-metre-long section of Henriettenstraße is expected to be fully closed until 30 June.

For residents, the restrictions should be kept to a minimum, but access to the respective property or rental property will not be possible during this time. Other access and parking options should therefore be used during the construction period. A diversion for traffic will be signposted.

The rubbish bins will be taken by the construction company to the site boundary on the respective collection dates and back to the properties after emptying.

The pavements, kerbs and drainage channels on both sides between Erich-Mühsam-Straße and Barbarossastraße have already been renewed in recent years. In addition, the main pipe for the drinking water supply, including the associated property connection pipes, were replaced prior to the construction work. The area of the drinking water line was provisionally filled with asphalt base course material so that the road could be driven on in the meantime. Now the entire bitumen-containing superstructure is being replaced.
The costs for the carriageway renewal, which is being carried out by the company Eiffage from Drebach, amount to around 136,000 euros.

There are plans to renew the carriageway and the northern pavement of Henriettenstraße in the second section between Franz-Mehring-Straße and Erich-Mühsam-Straße in autumn 2023. The tender for this construction project is currently underway.
