The carriageway of Henriettenstraße is being renewed

Second section between Franz-Mehring-Straße and Erich-Mühsam-Straße

From Monday, 4 September, the next construction phase of Henriettenstraße will begin in the section between Franz-Mehring-Straße and Erich-Mühsam-Straße. The carriageway and a pavement of Henriettenstraße will be renewed in this area. Henriettenstraße is located in the Kaßberg district and stretches from Horst-Menzel-Straße to Hohe Straße.

The southern pavement has already been resurfaced with granite slabs and small granite paving. The northern pavement has so far been paved with concrete slabs, which have been considerably compressed and displaced.

In the second construction phase, the carriageway and the northern footpath will be renewed. There is currently a green strip including large trees between the kerb bordering the carriageway and the northern footpath. To protect these trees, the crossings of the green areas will be reduced to a paved crossing. After completion, this will also be suitable for transporting rubbish bins and will be used for this purpose.

The road section between Franz-Mehring-Straße and Erich-Mühsam-Straße will be fully closed for the construction work, which is expected to last until mid-October, although the southern pavement will be available throughout. Access to the properties will be granted in consultation with the construction company.

During the construction work, restrictions for residents will be kept to a minimum, but access to the property or rental property will not be possible during this time. If other access and parking options are available, these should be used as far as possible during the construction period.

During the full closure, the rubbish bins will be taken by the construction company on the respective collection dates to the construction site boundary and back to the properties after emptying.

The company Asphalt-Bau Chemnitz Tief- & Straßenbau GmbH has been commissioned with the construction work. The costs amount to 290,000 euros.

The drinking water pipe on Henriettenstraße was replaced in advance of the construction work to speed up the construction process. The trench area of the drinking water pipeline has been provisionally sealed in the meantime to allow road users to use the road.
