The "3rd MARKTPLATZ Culture & School2018" sponsorship prizes are awarded
On Monday, 11 February 2019 at 5 pm, the funding awards will be officially presented to the participating partner institutions of the "3rd Marketplace Culture & School". The Cultural Education Contact Centre invites all interested parties to this event - as part of the regular Culture & Education Jour Fixe - in the Neue Sächsische Galerie at the TIETZ.
The jury met at the end of December 2018 to award the prizes: "It was a pleasure to be in this situation and to be able to support more exciting collaborations and project plans between educational institutions and cultural organisations from all sectors in the field of cultural education than originally planned," says Birgit Rehme-Iffert, coordinator at the Cultural Education Contact Point.
A total of five prizes were awarded. The jury members Heike Paul, Department of Interdisciplinary Tasks at the Chemnitz State Office for Schools and Education, Katrin Voigt, Head of Cultural Management at the City of Chemnitz Cultural Centre and Michael Paul Milow, Chairman of the Network for Youth and Cultural Work Chemnitz e. V. selected the winners.
The five prizes, including the first prize of 800 euros and four further prizes of 650 euros each, were awarded to the following cooperation projects:

Reichenhain primary school and Eisenbahnfreunde "Richard Hartmann" Chemnitz e. V.
- TerraNovaCampus children's theatre at the ARTHUR
Terra Nova Campus. Die Entdeckerschule and Kulturhaus Arthur e. V.
- Reading is like a game
Reichenhain Primary School and Goethe Society Chemnitz e. V.

Anton Semyonovich Makarenko Primary School and Auxilium e. V.
- NeMuKids_Art in the garden
Reichenhain primary school and Chemnitz Theatre
Such collaborations between educational and cultural stakeholders will continue to enrich Chemnitz's educational and cultural landscape in the long term. The contact centre will continuously accompany and support the project plans, also with a view to ensuring the most sustainable impact possible.
The "3rd Culture & School Marketplace" took place on 6 November 2018 at the TIETZ. It was organised by the Cultural Education Contact Point in the Cultural Management Department of the City of Chemnitz. Eleven declarations of intent for cooperation between schools and cultural stakeholders had already been signed at the marketplace itself.
