Terra Preta. Interesting facts about the "black earth"

On Wednesday 29 September at 6.45 pm, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to a lecture that takes a closer look at soil and soil health.
The lecture will take a closer look at Terra Preta, the fertile soil of the Indians from South America, and its special properties.

The black soil can store large amounts of water and ensures high crop yields for years. Biochar is an important component of Terra Preta. It can be used to build up a fertile and persistent humus layer, which not only benefits soil health and plant growth, but also helps to bind climate-active carbon dioxide in the soil. How this soil substrate can be produced and used in your own garden will be clearly explained.
