Temporary accommodation for refugees begins operations
Glösaer Straße 35 offers space for around 100 people
The City of Chemnitz's temporary accommodation for refugees at Glösaer Straße 35 goes into operation at the beginning of February in order to be prepared for further increases in the number of refugees. As things stand, 34 people will initially be accommodated there. In total, the accommodation offers space for around 100 people.
All of the people being accommodated at Glösaer Straße 35 have applied for asylum and have already been registered at the initial reception centre of the Free State of Saxony.
Accommodation is provided in two to four-bed rooms. The refugees remain in the accommodation until a decision is made on their residence status. The refugees are looked after on site by Arbeiterwohlfahrt Soziale Dienste Chemnitz und Umgebung gGmbH. AWO is responsible for running the property, providing social support for the refugees and providing full catering, including serving meals.
The temporary accommodation is scheduled to operate until 30 June 2023 for the time being.
