Technology Campus South" industrial estate
Development completed on 13 October
On Tuesday, 13 October, construction work on the Technology Campus South will be completed on schedule. The city of Chemnitz has thus developed an approximately 23-hectare technology and research-orientated industrial estate.
An access road around 550 metres long was built in this area, connecting to Lise-Meitner-Straße in the north and Fraunhoferstraße in the west. The name of this road is an extension of Lise-Meitner-Straße.
The new road was built in coordination with the developers. These include eins (inetz) and the waste disposal company of the city of Chemnitz (ESC). All media such as drinking water, gas, district heating, broadband, city lighting and waste water have been laid in the street area and can be used by future residents. Telekom has also laid empty conduits in the pavement.
The width of the road is 9.50 metres. It is dimensioned so that lorry parking is possible at the edge of the carriageway. A pavement 2.30 metres wide was laid on one side of the road. On the side of the road without a pavement, a 0.75 metre wide hard shoulder was created on the passenger side for entering and exiting the vehicle.
Construction work began on 7 October 2019. The total development has an investment volume of 1.9 million euros. The construction company Eiffage-Infra Ost from Drebach was commissioned to carry out the construction work.
The individual plots are being marketed by Chemnitzer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (CWE).
