Technical problems: Scaffolding on the Rabenstein viaduct is replaced
The working and protective scaffolding erected for the construction work on the Rabenstein viaduct has to be temporarily dismantled by the construction company this week due to technical defects.
The scaffolding is to be erected again as soon as possible so that construction work can continue.
The repair of the viaduct in Rabenstein began in April. In addition to its importance for tourism, the structure is also highly valued as a technical monument and will be preserved in its original state. The construction work is scheduled to last until summer 2022.
The total cost of the restoration is 2.6 million euros, of which the Free State of Saxony is providing 1.5 million euros from the former GDR party assets.
