Tandem reading with poems and fables
The City Library invites you: 15 October, 7 p.m. in the TIETZ, Central Library
On Friday 15 October at 7 pm, Chemnitz writer and art critic Hans Brinkmann and Augsburg author and DJ Franz Dobler will be reading at the Central Library in the TIETZ.
Admission is free. Registration for the tandem reading is required by telephone on 0371 488 4366 or by e-mail to: information(at)stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de.
Franz Dobler will read from his poetry collection "Ich will doch immer nur kriegen was ich haben will". His poems are characterised by contradiction and humour, by emotion and harshness, by pain at the way the world is going. He gets to the heart of the matter, showing a poetic and political edge.
The humorous and socially critical texts in Hans Brinkmann's "Fable Book" play with the literary genre of the fable. For example, "Vom Kuckuck, der ausstirbt, weil er arbeitsteilung betreibt" (The cuckoo that dies out because it divides labour) or "Vom Igel, der ein Fabeltier ist" (The hedgehog that is a mythical creature). He thus provides his readers with some puzzling material.
The reading is part of the touring exhibition "Was bleibet aber ... - Literatur im Land" by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Literarischer Gesellschaften und Gedenkstätten e.V. This can be seen in the Central Library from 12 October to 24 November 2021 and presents the diversity of the German literary landscape. The regional section provides an insight into the lives of selected authors from what is now Saxony, such as Lessing, Karl May, Erich Kästner, Christian Fürchtegott Gellert, Lene Voigt and Joachim Ringelnatz.
