Symposium on music education, 23 to 25 November
Invitation to the press conference: 5 November, 11 a.m., Municipal Music School
The Municipal Music School invites you to a press conference on Monday, 5 November at 11 a.m. in the concert hall of the music school in the run-up to the first symposium on music education "Joy of Music".
Nancy Gibson, director of the music school, will present details of the symposium. The organising team, Steffi Schmidtke and Sabine Petri, and the composer and music teacher Thomas Stöß will be available to answer questions.
As part of the city's 875th anniversary celebrations, a weekend symposium on music education entitled "Joy of Music" will take place from 23 to 25 November 2018. The venue is the Chemnitz Municipal Music School. Visitors can look forward to a weekend of exciting lectures and concerts by talented young people. There will also be a workshop where you can try out instruments.
The aim is to inform and motivate people of all ages and backgrounds from Chemnitz and the region to take advantage of music education programmes at public music schools and other institutions.
