On Monday, 5 October, at 4.00 pm, Julia Ackermann, Yara Fay Riefstahl and Lise Seidel, swimmers from Schwimmclub Chemnitz von 1892 e. V., will be entered into the City of Chemnitz’s Golden Book of Sport in the presence of Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky.
The ceremony will take place at the Stadtbad Chemnitz, Mühlenstraße 27, in the event area on the first floor.
Media representatives are invited to attend.
With this entry, the City of Chemnitz recognises the exceptional sporting achievements of these three Chemnitz-based athletes. Julia Ackermann won gold with the German mixed relay team in open-water swimming at the 2026 European Swimming Championships in Paris.
Yara Fay Riefstahl and Lise Seidel are being honoured as outstanding young athletes who have achieved numerous successes at national and, in some cases, international youth level. Both also took part in the European Swimming Championships in Paris.
Also present at the ceremony will be representatives from the Chemnitz Swimming Club of 1892 e. V., the City Sports Association and the Olympic Training Centre.
