Sweet or else there'll be dinosaurs
Museum für Naturkunde: Halloween party at the "Window into Earth's History" on 22 October, 4 to 8 pm
On Saturday, 22 October, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., interested children and young people are invited to a Halloween party at the "Window into Earth History" at Glockenstraße 16, a branch of the Museum of Natural History Chemnitz. For the first time, the "Window into Earth's History" will be showing its spooky side. By candlelight and torchlight, there will be scary stories, volcanic magic potions, face painting for children, scary pumpkin faces and much more. Participation is free of charge. Registration is not required.
This year, the excavation team from the "Window into Earth's History" is bidding a ghostly farewell to the winter break and organising a Halloween party at the excavation site under the motto "Trick or treat, or there'll be prehistoric dinosaurs":
Ever since the days got shorter, the hut has been haunted. Little ghosts hover on the ceiling, the light is constantly flickering and creepy shadows dance on the walls. If you are brave enough, then enter the hut and listen to exciting scary stories until your hair stands on end. If you still haven't had enough, you can go on a ghost hunt in the excavation area and chase away ghosts by throwing cans with the rattling noises.
At Halloween time, pumpkins sprout up like mushrooms. How about a round of pumpkin tic-tac-toe? Can you beat your friends?
If you'd rather take it easy, you're invited to have an imaginative motif painted on your face at the children's make-up centre. Afterwards, you can take a photo of yourself with a gloomy Halloween motif.
One of the little ghosts has hidden the ingredients for the magic potion at the witches' dance floor. Can you help dig them out again?
The excavation tent is also very haunted, the skeletons of prehistoric dinosaurs rattle in the wind and rattling chains can be heard again and again. A creepy fellow stomps around and tells stories from long ago - of smoking volcanoes and primeval dinosaurs in their death throes.
After all the scary stories, games and exciting activities, those in need of refreshment can warm up with bubbling magic potions and hot devil's fingers.
If you dare, you are cordially invited to celebrate the end of the excavation season with the "Window into Earth History" team. You are welcome to dress up and come in fancy dress.
