On Wednesday, 5 November at 9 a.m., the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Dina Norberger, will hang a banner on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) together with the primary school pupils of Heinrich Heine Primary School.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.

Beforehand, Dina Norberger will conduct a workshop with the children in which selected Sustainable Development Goals will be presented. Questions such as "Why is there hunger and poverty in the world?" or "How can we protect the environment so that future generations can also grow up healthy?" will be discussed with them.
Numerous daycare centres and schools in Chemnitz have already received large weatherproof banners and posters on the 17 SDGs for their interiors. These are gradually being hung up in the educational institutions to sensitise children to topics such as environmental protection, social responsibility and sustainable action at an early age.
The special feature: All 17 sustainability goals are depicted on each banner and poster. Each individual goal has its own QR code, which can be easily scanned with a smartphone. Behind the code is an audio recording in which a child's voice explains the goal in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
The project was initiated by Michaela Koschak, who recorded the audio recordings together with pupils from Dr Wilhelm André Grammar School. The pupils have already been recognised for their commitment to the sustainability goals - they took 4th place in the Chemnitz Environmental Award.
The banner campaign is part of a publicity campaign organised by the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer in cooperation with the Carlowitz Society.
