Survey on local supply

Starting tomorrow, Friday 13 November, the City of Chemnitz is launching an online survey on local amenities and how Chemnitz residents in the respective districts rate the current situation.

For many people, a well-functioning local supply system is a part of their quality of life and can make an important contribution to their satisfaction with their current housing situation. The focus here is on being able to buy everyday necessities such as groceries, drugstore goods, magazines, cut flowers or pet food close to home.

Shopping for everyday necessities is an everyday activity. Sometimes it is associated with pleasure, because the shop around the corner also offers the opportunity for a chat with neighbours, sometimes shopping is perceived as a burden, for example because there are no shopping facilities for miles around.

The survey will run until 1 January 2021 and will ask about shopping behaviour and suggestions in order to better analyse and further develop the local shopping situation in Chemnitz. Questions include, for example:

  • How often do you buy everyday goods?
  • Do you use discounters, supermarkets, drinks markets, weekly markets, etc.?
  • Do you use online shopping for your groceries?
  • Which means of transport do you use for shopping?
  • What do you miss in the neighbourhood where you regularly shop?
  • What ideas do you have for improving local shopping?

The answers will be incorporated into the analysis of the current situation, which is being carried out for the current update of the city's retail and centre concept. The findings will also serve as a basis for further planning to supply the population in the city's neighbourhoods with everyday goods.

The more Chemnitz residents take part in this survey on local supply, the more meaningful the picture will be.

Participation takes about 10 minutes. The questionnaire can be accessed via the following link or QR code: https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/1022145
