Survey on housing and living at Brühl in Chemnitz

Distribution of the questionnaires on 3 June, from 9 a.m.

On Wednesday, 3 June, from 9 a.m., Mayor Michael Stötzer and representatives of the building department will distribute survey forms to the letterboxes of Brühl residents together with the district pilots. The meeting point and start is at the main entrance to Brühl (Brühlbogen/ Georgstraße).

At its April meeting, the city council commissioned the administration to carry out a survey on whether the Brühl should be converted from a general residential area to a so-called "urban area" under planning law.

The questionnaires are intended to record the wishes, suggestions and concerns of local residents in order to find solutions that harmonise both wishes and existing legal standards. The evaluation of the survey will be published in the Chemnitz official gazette, on the municipal website www.chemnitz.de and in the Brühl office. Once the survey has been analysed, a proposal will be made as to how planning security can be created for all parties involved.

The desire for a lively and enjoyable Brühl has not only been a concern for its residents for years. Thanks to the commitment of many local stakeholders, it has now developed into a lively and culturally diverse neighbourhood with an increasing mix of living and working, leisure and gastronomy. However, the creative interaction also leads to controversial discussions about further development.
