Survey on health behaviour launched
Survey is aimed at people over the age of 65
Chemnitz University of Technology has launched an online survey on the sport, exercise and health behaviour of older people. All Chemnitz citizens aged 65 and over who currently live in the city of Chemnitz can take part. The Office for Health and Prevention of the City of Chemnitz would like to draw attention to this and is asking all eligible citizens to take part in the survey.

The survey takes about 30 minutes and contains questions relating to the sport, exercise and health behaviour of the participants and how they themselves assess it. All answers are collected and analysed anonymously.
The aim of the survey is to design age-appropriate sport and exercise-related programmes and infrastructure in the city of Chemnitz. Based on the data and findings obtained, strategies and recommendations for practical action will be developed together with local stakeholders (e.g. the Office for Health and Prevention and the Sports Office). At the same time, sport and exercise-related programmes and health-promoting living and environmental conditions for older people are being further developed in a targeted manner.
Background
The demographic development of our society is leading to a variety of changes and presents local authorities with major challenges when it comes to developing age-appropriate exercise and sports programmes.
As a member of the Healthy Chemnitz Working Group, Chemnitz University of Technology (Chair of Social Science Perspectives on Sport, Exercise and Health Promotion) is actively involved in shaping the topic of healthy ageing and exercise and contributes to the scientific monitoring and implementation of the topic in Chemnitz.
