Survey by the Office for Health and Prevention
Conclusion: majority of respondents are satisfied - results provide basis for further work of the office
From March to May 2024, citizens were asked how well they knew the Office for Health and Prevention, what services they had already used and what other services they would like to see.
The survey, in which more than 370 citizens took part, provided valuable insights into the perceptions and needs of the Chemnitz population.
At 70.2 per cent, the paediatric and youth medical service is probably the best-known department in the Office for Health and Prevention. It is followed by the General Infection Protection Service (59.8 per cent) and the Paediatric and Adolescent Dental Service (59.6 per cent).
Overall, 50.3 per cent of citizens are satisfied with the handling of their concerns, 17.8 per cent are even very satisfied. More information and services were requested on topics such as exercise (46.5 per cent), nutrition (42.3 per cent) and prevention (41.0 per cent). In addition, important suggestions and wishes were expressed that will be incorporated into the ongoing development of the programmes.

As a public health service authority, the Office of Health and Prevention is responsible for tasks relating to health protection and health promotion. It monitors, prevents and looks after the health of the population, particularly in matters of infection control. One of the best-known tasks is the school entrance examination for all pre-school children. This is also reflected in the results of the survey.
