Support wanted for the "Lichterwege" on 9 November
The AG Stolpersteine of the City of Chemnitz and the Chemnitz association Buntmacher*innen are still looking for supporters for the "Lichterwege" on 9 November.
In this project, which commemorates the victims of the 1938 pogrom night, all 330 stumbling blocks in the city will be cleaned and illuminated for one night with small cups of light together with a large network of private individuals and institutions.
The aim of the campaign is to draw attention to the fates of people who were persecuted, expelled, deported and murdered during the National Socialist era.
Chemnitz residents who would like to actively support the campaign on Saturday, 9 November can contact the Buntmacher* by emailing info(at)buntmacherinnen.eu by 20 October.
The Lichterwege are funded by the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz and by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal programme "Live Democracy!".
