Support programme for artistically talented young people

Young Chemnitz residents with artistic talent can receive support from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund. The Office for Youth and Family of the City of Chemnitz would like to point out that applications (form attached) for financial support for artistic projects in 2013 must be submitted to the City of Chemnitz now: Regardless of whether you are planning a band performance, organising an exhibition of your own paintings or putting on a play - the range of possible funding is as diverse as the artistic genres and forms of expression. A financial grant of up to 2,500 euros can be applied for. The deadline for applications for projects in 2013 is 30 November 2012.

Requirements for submitting an application:
Applications can be submitted by young people from Chemnitz who wish to gain project experience in the artistic field and/or make a difference in their respective environment and publicise their artistic activities. Young people who are not yet 18 years old should submit their application via an organisation. Support is given to non-commercial projects that are developed and realised independently, that appeal to the widest possible audience (especially young people) and that promote creative self-activity. Intergenerational projects are also eligible for funding.

Another 50,000 euros have been earmarked for the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund for 2013. Applications submitted by 30 November 2012 for projects to be implemented in 2013 will be reviewed by the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund working group and a funding list will then be drawn up. The funding list with the proposals from the working group - which is led by the city's Youth and Family Office, Youth Work Department - will be discussed in the Culture and Sports Committee and then submitted to the Youth Welfare Committee for a decision and resolution.
