Sundays open for business in 2021 will not take place

The open Sundays in the city centre on 28 November and 12 December decided by the city council cannot take place as the Chemnitz Christmas market has been cancelled.

Due to the current Saxon Corona Emergency Ordinance, the organisation of Christmas markets is prohibited.

Sunday openings are based on the Saxon Shop Opening Act, which authorises the opening of sales outlets on special occasions. The Chemnitz Christmas market is considered a special occasion.
