Holiday offers in August - explore the zoo as a researcher
A visit to the zoo and wildlife park is well worthwhile during the summer holidays. In the enclosures, for example, there are one or two young animals to discover. However, the offers that are usually available during the holidays can unfortunately not be carried out as usual due to the Corona protection measures. There will be no daily short guided tours at the zoo and no show feedings at the wildlife enclosure. However, normality has returned to both facilities, but the usual social distancing and hygiene rules apply. A maximum of 500 people are allowed to visit the zoo and the wildlife park at any one time. A circular route is in place to minimise encounters. The tropical house and petting zoo are open again.
Summer holiday programme for children
On 11, 13, 25 and 27 August, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., children can explore the zoo as researchers: get to know exotic animal species up close, research the zoo's news as reporters and make exciting things for animals. The programme is suitable for children aged 6 to 13. The maximum number of participants is ten. Cost per day and child: 10 euros (excluding catering). Please register in advance by e-mail: tierpark(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. The registration deadline is two working days before the respective date. (All dates are subject to change.)
Opening hours in summer:
Zoo: 9 am to 7 pm, last admission 6 pm
Game enclosure: 8 am to 6 pm, last admission 5 pm
