Summer flower planting begins after Whitsun
The annual summer flower planting begins next Tuesday, when the city gardeners will bring colour to 1040 m² of our city.
Prior to this, the areas were prepared for planting, for example the steel strip edging of the borders on Schloßplatz was renewed and approx. 100 m³ of topsoil was replaced.
Planting will start on Tuesday in the park by the Red Tower. This will be followed by Schloßbergpark and Schloßplatz. The plants will be supplied in the usual excellent quality by the company Wilhelm-Willkomm GbR from Dresden.
A total of 23,550 summer flowers will be planted for the colourful flower display designed by the Parks Department, including blue men's fritillary, white stonecrop, red begonias, yellow marigolds, hussar's button, red sage and coneflower.
The Parks Department is investing 11,634 euros in this planting.
