Summary of the meeting on 1 September 2018
Several marches and gatherings were registered for 1 September 2018 in Chemnitz. Almost 4,000 people attended the registered rally under the slogan "Herz statt Hetze" ("Heart instead of agitation"). The demonstrations and rallies organised by the AfD and Pro Chemnitz recorded a total of around 4,500 participants. All demonstrations and rallies were officially ended by 8.45 pm.
By 9 p.m., the emergency services had been called out to 17 incidents. Of these, 11 people had to be taken to hospital. The fire brigade had to respond to one call-out in connection with this special situation.
