Successful interim results of "Chemnitz on eBay"
Chemnitz retailers turn over almost 70 million euros on eBay in two years
Around two years after the launch of the online platform "Chemnitz on Ebay", the Chemnitz City Initiative is more than satisfied with the results.
"More than 1460 traders* from Chemnitz sell their goods via this platform and have achieved a turnover of almost 70 million euros in the past two years. Around 1.7 million items were sold via this marketplace. These are excellent figures, even compared to the rest of Germany," says Sylvia Stölzel from the City of Chemnitz's Business Division, Department of Business Services, Retail and Catering, who has been involved in the project from the outset.
Around 150 retailers have joined in the past year, significantly increasing the selection once again.
The local online marketplace was launched in Chemnitz in May 2021 as a pilot project by Ebay and the "Chemnitz City" initiative. There are now similar offerings in 30 other cities.
