String Quartet PLUS - Family concert with new works by the Dresden composers' class

On Sunday, 11 November at 11 a.m., the Chemnitz Municipal Music School invites you to a concert in the concert hall with the Canadian string quartet Quatuor Bozzini, which will perform new works from the Dresden composer class. The moderated family concert will feature exciting musical stories from the youngest generation of composers. The concert lasts approx. 75 minutes and is suitable for children aged 7 and over. Admission costs 8 euros, concessions 5.

Two violins, a viola and a cello, plus other elements such as voice, facial expressions and gestures through to scenic actions on stage or interaction with the audience: under the motto "String Quartet PLUS", 15 world premieres by students of the Dresden Composers' Class can be experienced. Under the guidance of composers Silke Fraikin and Johannes Korndörfer, the eight to 18-year-olds have "customised" their pieces for the four musicians from Montreal.

The Canadian string quartet Quatuor Bozzini has been a guest of the composers' class several times since summer 2017 and worked on the newly created works together with the young composers, including "Auf einer Waldlichtung" by Ranon Baltrusch, "Das Gewitter" by Tom Seidel, "Lise und die Männer" by Ole Lehnert and "Mit der Straßenbahn unterwegs" by Anton Zeißig.

The overture to the concert will be performed by the StreichHölzer ensemble from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School (conductor: Andreas Winkler).
