String Festival of the Municipal Music School
Four concerts from 9 to 11 May
From next Tuesday, 9 May to Thursday, 11 May 2017, the String Instruments Department of the Municipal Music School invites you to the "String Festival Days". Four concerts are on the programme for the talented young string players.
The string band "Rock'n'Strings" will kick things off on Tuesday, 9 May 2017 at 6 pm. In the concert hall of the music school, you will hear pleasantly sharp rhythms combined with soft string sections and talented solo singing. Rock classics, Apocalyptica and other metal interpretations as well as rock-pop ballads and funk tunes will be played.
On Wednesday, 10 May 2017 at 6 pm, the concert hall of the music school will be filled with somewhat calmer string sounds. The Flitzebogen Orchestra, the StreichHölzer and soloists invite you to a spring concert and perform works such as "Dorothy Waltz" by Andrea Holzer-Rhomberg, "Spaghetti Tango" by Julia Schröter and "Palladio" by Karl Jenkins.
On Thursday, 11 May 2017 at 5 pm, various string ensembles from the music school will perform on the stage in the foyer of the TIETZ. The concert will last around 45 minutes.
The String Festival will come to an end at 6 pm with a musical devotion with strings in the Jakobikirche.
