Stricter access regulations for indoor swimming pools
New restrictions will apply from Friday when the overload level is reached
On Friday, 19 November, the regulations on the overload level according to the Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance (§ 9) will come into force. From this day onwards, stricter access regulations will apply to the Chemnitz swimming pools, some of which will be used by the public in parallel with the clubs.
The background to this is that on Monday, 15 November, the load value for bed occupancy on the normal ward of 1,300 beds in Saxon hospitals was exceeded. If this is the case for three consecutive days, the regulations for the overload level apply from the day after next.
The 2G rule applies to public swimming pools, including swimming courses, aqua fitness and saunas. This means that proof of vaccination or recovery is required. Children under the age of six and schoolchildren up to the age of 16 do not require a test. Persons who do not receive a vaccination recommendation for health reasons (presentation of a medical certificate) will be admitted after presenting a negative test result. The rapid test must not be older than 24 hours, a PCR test not older than 48 hours. Contact details are also recorded.
The 2G access regulation also applies to club sports, water rescue services and sporting competitions (vaccinated and recovered). Children under the age of 16 and fully immunised and recovered persons are not counted. Exceptions apply, for example, to service sports such as fire brigades, sports science degree programmes, competitive sports and licensed professional athletes. School swimming, the use of swimming pools and saunas for rehabilitation and medical purposes and rescue courses also remain unaffected.
