Street tree planting in the urban area
Following planning in 2019, tree planting is currently underway on various streets in the city of Chemnitz. The preparatory work is already in full swing. The trees will be planted by mid-March by two contracted gardening and landscaping companies. The maintenance work will be carried out by the companies over three vegetation periods. The costs for these street tree plantings amount to 63,000 euros.
A total of 27 deciduous trees will be planted at the following seven locations:
Hoffmannstraße: seven imperial lime trees
Michaelstraße: five narrow-leaved ash trees
Dresdner Straße/Thomas-Mann-Platz: three plane trees
Otto-Planer-Straße: six silver lime trees
Roundabout at Südbahnhof: three gleditsias
Salzstraße at Schloßplatz: two sycamore trees
Horst-Menzel-Straße: one imperial lime tree
