Street of Nations: Pavement renovation and barrier-free expansion of four stops
Construction work by the civil engineering office begins on Monday - information from the traffic authority on one-way street regulations and diversions
The asphalt on the Straße der Nationen between Wilhelm-Külz-Platz and Emilienstraße is being renewed. The construction work by the civil engineering department will begin on Monday, 9 September and should be completed by 4 October. As part of the construction work, the asphalt will be milled down to approx. five centimetres and the four CVAG stops in the section will be made barrier-free.
EUROVIA Verkehrsbauunion GmbH, Leipzig branch, has been commissioned with the realisation. Around € 230,000 will be invested in the construction project.
Information from the transport authority: From the start of the construction work on Monday until the end of the work (4 October), one side of the Straße der Nationen will be closed to traffic and a one-way street will be set up in the direction of Emilienstraße. Traffic travelling in the opposite direction will be diverted via Emilienstraße - Blankenauer Straße - Müllerstraße.
Pedestrians can continue to use the pavement without restriction. A pedestrian traffic light will be installed in the Emilienstraße/Blankenauer Straße area to ensure safe crossing of Emilienstraße. Public transport passengers please note the information provided by CVAG(www.cvag.de) regarding the relocation of stops in the construction area.
