Street cleaning bylaws adopted
At its meeting yesterday, the City Council adopted the 4th statutes amending the statutes on street cleaning in the City of Chemnitz (Straßenreinigungssatzung - StrRS) and the 2nd statutes amending the statutes on charging street cleaning fees in the City of Chemnitz (Straßenreinigungsgebührensatzung - StrRGebS). Between February and July 2014, the street cleaning working group had previously discussed the manner and scope of statutory cleaning, its results and framework conditions. City councillors from various parties, representatives of local councils, housing associations, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, home and property owners' associations and the city association of allotment gardeners had spoken out by a large majority against extending/intensifying the combined cleaning service. The current scope of street cleaning services was therefore retained and no fundamental changes were made to the street cleaning system or the categorisation of streets into the various cleaning types and frequencies.
