Strategic communication and marketing concept: Renowned Chemnitz advertising agency Zebra will advise the city
The renowned Chemnitz advertising agency Zebra has won the competition for a strategic communication and marketing concept for the city of Chemnitz. The agency will develop a long-term strategy for positioning the city and the measures derived from it.
"The city's successful development is not reflected in its image," says Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig, explaining the reason for the competition. "It's about promoting the city professionally, authentically and yet with the right amount of lightness, making Chemnitz a successful brand. I am delighted to have proven experts in this field as partners in the Zebra agency."
"Working for the city of Chemnitz is a matter close to our hearts. Because we have chosen Chemnitz as our location. But something has to be done. Chemnitz may be a beautiful city, but unfortunately it is still very underrated. We need to change that. With positive energy from Chemnitz itself," says Zebra Managing Director Joerg G. Fieback.
The aim of the competition was to develop a concept for the long-term orientation of city marketing, which initially has two target groups: It should turn Chemnitz residents into ambassadors for their city. It is also intended to make the city an exciting place to work and live for young professionals, for those who are already here and those who are to come to Chemnitz.
The decision was made after the presentation to an advisory jury, which included entrepreneurs, representatives from the Technical University, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Industrial Association, city councillors, event organisers, restaurateurs and other movers and shakers from the worlds of culture and sport. Five agencies presented their concepts to this jury. A total of 27 competition entries were submitted. Over the next few weeks, the short concept will be worked out in detail before it is presented to the public and realised.
