Stories from the Luna Park
Historical-critical reflections on the economy of the present Reading and discussion with Prof Dr Thomas Kuczynski
The reading will take place in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation at the adult education centre in the TIETZ, event hall, 3rd floor. Admission is free.
It deals with economic crises, expansion strategies of capital, state bankruptcies, debt, climate change, pension lies, globalisation and nationalism, alternative economies and economic alternatives, failed states and other topics.
The analysis is radically written and at the same time cautious and prudent in its prognosis, always politically focussed, never nationally narrow, in its criticism by no means limited to "bourgeois ideology" and always open to new, surprising and inspiring ideas. The author will read some of his stories and is interested in controversial discussions with current relevance.
Prof Thomas Kuczynski, born in 1944, statistician, economist and freelance journalist, was the last director of the Institute for Economic History at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR. Numerous publications, including on the issue of compensation for former forced labourers in Germany.
