Statement by the City of Chemnitz on the events in the stadium
The city of Chemnitz has demanded comprehensive clarification and reappraisal from Chemnitzer FC following the events in the stadium last Saturday on the sidelines of the regional league match. The administration expects the club to take a clear stance - and to vigorously investigate the circumstances of what happened in the stadium and draw the necessary conclusions. To this end, a meeting between representatives of the club and the city administration as well as the city council factions was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The city of Chemnitz had taken note of the events surrounding the mourning at the stadium on 9 March with astonishment and incomprehension.
