Statement by Mayor Knut Kunze
Mayor of Public Order Knut Kunze comments on the attack with bodily harm with presumably political motivation in the night from 24 to 25 March on Bahnhofsstraße:
"The city of Chemnitz clearly stands against right-wing extremism and racism. It is the task of the police to investigate such suspected cases quickly and purposefully, without allowing any delay, so that the facts can then be presented to the public prosecutor's office.
I assume that this will also happen in the current case if the suspicions are confirmed. Anything else would not be justifiable in view of the specific nature of the facts, but also in relation to the victims."
