State parliament election: 24,000 Chemnitz residents vote by post
Presentation of the election results on Sunday from 6 pm at BVZ Moritzhof
By midday today, around 24,000 Chemnitz residents had already cast their vote by postal ballot or made use of instant voting for next Sunday's state election. Compared to the 2009 state election, this is already around 1000 more postal voters.
A total of 199,942 Chemnitz residents are being called to vote for the Saxon state parliament on Sunday. The city of Chemnitz is divided into three constituencies for the election to the Sixth Saxon State Parliament, which in turn are divided into 161 electoral districts:
- Constituency 10 Chemnitz 1: 66,504 eligible voters
- Constituency 11 Chemnitz 2: 67,424 eligible voters
- Constituency 12 Chemnitz 3: 66,014 eligible voters
More than 1700 electoral assistants will be working in the polling stations in the city on Sunday as well as counting postal votes.
The presentation of the election results in Chemnitz will take place on Sunday from 6 pm in the civic hall in the Moritzhof civic and administration centre. In addition, the projections and results for the three Chemnitz constituencies can also be followed on the Internet at www.chemnitz.de from 6 pm.
To determine and establish the final election results in constituencies 10 Chemnitz 1 to 12 Chemnitz 3 for the election to the Saxon state parliament on 31 August 2014, the district electoral committee will meet in public on Wednesday, 3 September 2014, 10 a.m., in consultation room 118 of Chemnitz town hall, Markt 1.
