State election: 35,000 Chemnitz residents have requested postal voting documents

Around 35,000 Chemnitz residents have already requested their postal voting documents for next Sunday's state election. Of these, 29,238 had exercised their right to vote by returning their postal voting documents by post or by voting immediately by midday yesterday.
By way of comparison, there were a total of 24,386 postal voters in Chemnitz for the 2014 state election.
A total of around 192,000 Chemnitz residents are being called to vote for the Saxon state parliament on Sunday. The city of Chemnitz is divided into three constituencies for the election to the Seventh Saxon State Parliament, which in turn are divided into 143 electoral districts:
Constituency 10 Chemnitz 1: approx. 64,000 eligible voters
Constituency 11 Chemnitz 2: approx. 65,000 eligible voters
Constituency 12 Chemnitz 3: approx. 63,000 eligible voters
More than 1,500 electoral assistants will be working in the polling stations in the city on Sunday as well as counting postal votes.
The presentation of the election results in Chemnitz will take place on Sunday, 1 September, from 6 pm in the City Council Chamber of Chemnitz City Hall. In addition, the results from the constituencies for the three Chemnitz electoral districts can also be followed on the Internet at www.chemnitz.de from 6 pm.
Public district electoral committee - Determination of the final election results
On Thursday, 5 September 2019, 10 a.m., the district electoral committee will meet in public session to determine and establish the final election results in constituencies 10 Chemnitz 1, 11 Chemnitz 2 and 12 Chemnitz 3 for the election to the Saxon state parliament on 1 September 2019 in consultation room 118 of Chemnitz town hall, Markt 1.
