As announced in the construction site information dated 27 September 2012, two construction measures by the City of Chemnitz Civil Engineering Department will begin on Monday, 1 October:
The construction project on Blankenauer Straße betweenLohrstraße and Emilienstraße will involve the renovation of the top carriageway layer and the construction of a bus cape (an advanced bus stop). Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH was awarded the contract to realise the construction project. The construction costs amount to 114,000 euros.
Road users please note the traffic restrictions associated with the road surface renovation work from Monday, 1 October to Monday, 22 October: Pedestrians can cross the road safely with traffic lights in front of and behind the construction site area. Vehicular traffic will be guaranteed with one lane each in the landward and cityward direction. Turning left from Blankenauer Straße into Emilienstraße will be prohibited. A diversion will be set up via Christian-Wehner-Straße. Stops will be temporarily relocated.
Also from Monday 1 October, the city's civil engineering department will be carrying out road surface repairs on Zeisigwaldstraße between Heinrich-Schütz-Straße and Bayernring.
After the worn old surface course has been milled off, the new asphalt surface course will be laid in sections using a half-sided construction method (traffic light control). The new surface course will be laid over an area of 3,600 m². Faber Bau GmbH was commissioned with the construction work. The construction costs amount to 85,000 euros.
The construction work will be carried out from Monday, 1 October to Friday, 26 October. During each construction phase, it is guaranteed that the hospital on Zeisigwaldstraße as well as the houses of the residents in the area can be reached. We ask for your understanding that there will be temporary restrictions on the car parks on Zeisigwaldstraße during the construction work.
