Start of construction work to desilt the Knapp pond
Following the renovation of the inlet and the renewal of the outlet structure, the so-called monk, the third part of the phased plan to improve the condition of the Knappteich pond in the Yorck area involves the desludging of approx. 1,100 m³ of pond sludge.
The pond is currently being continuously drained and the dewatering of the pond sludge is being supported by accompanying measures. Starting in the 43rd calendar week (from 19 October 2015), the necessary construction site access to Fürstenstraße will be created. There will be temporary restrictions for pedestrians to use the temporary temporary solution. The removal of the pond sludge is planned for the period from week 45 to week 47.
The company Techno-Farm & Service GmbH, Neukirchen-Adorf, has been commissioned to carry out the work. The total cost of the measure is 75,000 euros.
Since April 2014, the Knappteich has also been under the care sponsorship of the Solidarität, Demokratie, Bildung e.V. association with the aim of preserving, maintaining and using the Knappteich together with local residents.
