Start of construction work on the leisure centre at Klaffenbach moated castle

Next week will see the start of a construction project commissioned by the city's Parks Department at the much-frequented leisure facility at Klaffenbach moated castle: work will begin on demolishing the playground, which has been closed for safety reasons since mid-2013, as well as the wooden edging. In addition, the existing fall protection gravel and play sand in the area will be removed and replaced with new material of the same quality.

As part of the construction work, two new climbing elements will be added to the existing fall protection area and the edging will be supplemented with new wooden supports. The plan is to complete the work by the end of May and reopen the leisure centre for use in time for Children's Day.

The company Massiv- und Industriebau from Amtsberg was commissioned with the realisation of the construction work following a public tender.

The City of Chemnitz is investing around 72,500 euros in the construction work.
