Start of construction work for watercourse construction in the Draisdorf district
Civil engineering office realises flood protection measures on Draisdorfer Bach
From Monday, 6 October, construction work will begin in the Draisdorf district as part of flood protection measures in the Draisdorfer Bach, where even minor flood events lead to overloading and overflowing due to the inadequate drainage cross-section. In order to urgently improve the drainage situation, the stream is being widened and the existing culverts are being replaced with an enlargement of the drainage profile over a length of approx. 320 metres.
In addition to the enlargement of a total of seven stream culverts and the sectional expansion of the stream, pressure-tight manhole covers will be retrofitted in the area of the stream pipework.
The measure is being fully subsidised by the Free State of Saxony as part of the 2013 flood reconstruction plan.
All individual measures are scheduled for completion by the end of June 2015.
The construction costs amount to approx. 160,000 euros. The company Delling - Bau GmbH Claußnitz was commissioned to carry out the construction work following a public tender.
Note from the traffic authority: During the necessary road closures "An der Hole", a diversion will be set up via Chemnitztalstraße and Auenstraße.
