Start of construction work for extensive civil engineering measures in Reineckerstraße between Dürerstraße and Casparistraße

Necessary full closure in sections in the construction area from 16 July

According to information from the city's civil engineering department, extensive civil engineering work is now beginning on Reineckerstraße in the section between Dürerstraße and Casparistraße: In the period from 15 July 2013 to 29 May 2014, the sewers will be renewed here by the waste disposal company of the city of Chemnitz.

In coordination with this project, the utility company eins energie in Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG is carrying out measures on the drinking water pipeline, the medium-voltage cable and the city lighting. The civil engineering department is carrying out road improvements in the section from Dürerstraße to Fichtestraße.

It is planned that the civil engineering work will initially be carried out in the section between Fichtestraße and Dürerstraße in 2013. In 2014, the combined sewerage system will be replaced and the drinking water pipeline renewed in the section between Caspari and Fichtestraße.

The total construction costs amount to around € 700,000. The company Dietmar Mothes GmbH, Chemnitz, was commissioned to carry out the construction work.

Information from the traffic authority: In order to carry out the civil engineering work, Reineckerstraße must be fully closed to traffic in sections during the specified period. This necessary full closure will come into force tomorrow, Tuesday (16 July). However, traffic at the junctions with Dürerstraße, Fichtestraße and Casparistraße will be guaranteed.

Pedestrian traffic will be routed past the construction site, if necessary via an emergency footpath. Access to the properties will of course be secured.
